The role combines enterprise architecture, software engineering, DevOps, IT operations, delivery governance and cyber security into one cohesive technology operating system. Drive engineering excellence across software engineering, DevOps, platform capabilities, automation and AI-enabled ways of working.
-
Orchestrate IT delivery and IT operations across Tribes, including cross-team dependencies, operational readiness, reliability and incident coordination.
-
Strengthen technology governance, manage technical and architectural debt and promote standardisation across the organisation.
-
Develop organisational capability through mentoring, coaching, Communities of Practice, upskilling and knowledge sharing.
-
Partner with the COO, Tribe Leads, IT Area Leads and business leaders to align technology strategy with delivery execution.
Who we are looking for
- A technology leader with deep expertise across architecture, software engineering and technology operations: You bring senior-level experience in technology leadership and help create a clear technology direction that supports business priorities and enables sustainable delivery.
- A strategic translator between business and technology: You turn business needs into technology standards, engineering practices and actionable roadmaps that create value for customers and the company.
- A trusted partner for senior stakeholders: You influence through expertise, strong collaboration and sound judgement, building trust across leadership teams and driving alignment on key decisions.
- A modern engineering advocate: You bring hands-on understanding of cloud-native technologies, automation, observability, reliability engineering and cyber security, and know how to apply them in a practical way.
- A quality-focused delivery leader: You know how to balance speed and innovation with technology quality, resilience, security and long-term maintainability.
- A servant leader and coach: You lead through ownership, coaching and empowerment, helping teams continuously improve while creating an environment where people can grow and succeed.
What success looks like
- Technology standards, architecture principles and engineering guardrails are consistently applied across the organisation.
- Product teams are enabled to deliver independently within clear, secure and sustainable technology boundaries.
- Engineering maturity, DevOps capability, operational reliability and AI-enabled ways of working continuously improve.
- Technology delivery remains stable, secure, scalable and aligned with enterprise priorities and OKRs.
