Market Analyst

Do you want to drive commercial optimisation of one of the largest commodity portfolios in Europe?

Then join our international Modelling, Analysis and Strategy team within E.ON Energy Markets area as a Market Analyst (f/m/d) based in Prague and help us to build-up and mature the market analysis and insight activities of E.ON. Within E.ON Energy Markets we all collaborate and support on complex topics as we are at the heart of the Energy Transition and Europe's journey to become Carbon Neutral.

In this role you will

• deliver analysis of the price and fundamental development of the global commodity markets, to assess possible future movements of price levels and spreads in the European commodity markets.
• closely cooperate with Trading & Origination functions on commercial strategies.
• provide market analysis for assets or structured transactions through scenario analysis to enhance optimal Group-wide decision making.
• support the build and further maturity of a large, international energy customer portfolio as part of E.ON's transformation program.
• analyse energy market data to identify trading opportunities including opportunities for managing E.ON’s group portfolio (>200 TWh power & gas) through hedging decisions and open position management in forward markets with a focus on long- and midterm portfolio strategies.
• collaborate on the development of trading models and strategies.
• prepare reports on trading performance and market analysis and present these to a wide variety of audiences, from traders to board members.

What we expect from you?

You don't have to be Superman but there are a few qualities / knowledge we need from you ...

• Successfully completed university degree or comparable qualification in natural science, mathematics, economics, environment, or a related technical discipline.
• Proven experience in the European energy markets in either a commercial, analytical, or consulting role(s).
• Strong commercial mindset, which you combine with an analytical and structured way of thinking and strong motivation to deliver commercial results.
• Excellent communication skills in combination with assertiveness and engagement.
• Joy to work both within a highly motivated team and independently combined with taking on own responsibility.
• Embracing opportunities to learn and develop yourself through working with colleagues across all of E.ON’s operating regions.
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English, another European language is seen as a plus.
