The Team – your impact

Global Technology Platforms (GTP) is part of Technology Group. GTP builds, maintains, and continuously improves global scalable platforms for the E.ON group enabling product teams to focus on value-adding products built on top of efficient, resilient, and highly automated platforms. As part of our transition towards a product centric cloud-operating model (Nautilus), we will continue our close alignment and cooperation with the business and business IT colleagues, to make full use of all capabilities and technologies providing a stable foundation and end-to-end global platforms.

 

Within GTP we are seeking a highly skilled and visionary leader (f/m/d) to join our team as Head of Automation Factory Domain (f/m/d). This role is pivotal in driving the strategic direction, technological advancement, and operational excellence of the overall cloud-native software engineering platforms domain area. The successful candidate (f/m/d) will lead a diverse team, fostering a culture of innovation, efficiency, and collaboration and will report to the Cloud-Native Software Engineering Platforms Domain Area Head.

 

Your Role – meaningful & rewarding

  • You are responsible for the domain "Automation Factory” in the domain area “Cloud-Native Software Engineering Platforms”, providing visionary leadership, coaching and support in specific technologies and innovations
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to align domain goals with overall business objectives
  • Enhance operational workflows and build internal automation platforms, IDEs and DevOps/GitOps patterns that enable cloud-native software engineering across different cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP) and platforms
  • Lead, mentor, and develop product teams for ideation and agile software delivery of approximately 15-25 professionals
  • Transforming structures into our new operating model (Nautilus), driving agility and DevOps practices and culture together with your team 
  • Follow and assess new trends and technologies
  • Drive implementations with tools, such as Crossplane, Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD and Git
  • Provide consultancy to project teams and work closely with the engineering, foundation and platform teams in defining solution architectures and coding standards 

 

Your Profile – authentic & open-minded

  • Proven experience in a technology leadership role and operational responsibilities for a diverse international team, as well as multiple years of work experience in design and automation of software delivery processes (Pull/Push)
  • Experience in developing and implementing product visions and roadmaps, combined with a deep understanding of GitOps and DevOps approaches
  • Advanced experience in modern tools such as Crossplane, Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD, Git
  • Ability to collaborate with business leaders on all levels to understand requirements and translate them into technical capabilities
  • Challenger mindset, able to throw old ways of working overboard and openness to new topics combined with out-of-the-box thinking
  • Excellent communication (incl. presentation) and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in change management 
  • Fluent in English
  • Willingness to travel
