Salary - £36,659 - £49,250 plus excellent benefits and career progression
We are looking for permanent Commercial Engineers/Estimators to join our busy Lighting and Grid Department.
Main Responsibilities of the role
- Issuing quotes as well as ensuring all issued quotes are followed up and information collatedto allow effective review of competitive positioning.
- Act as escalation point for complaints from key customers ensuring that they are dealt withcorrectly and in line with the company policy on complaint handling.
- Managing major customer relationships – negotiating win- win deals.
- By personal example, support an environment that promotes rapid and continuousimprovement and the development of high performing teams.
- Being proactive about and taking ownership of all aspects of Safety, Health andEnvironmental issues related to work and the impact on ourselves and others.
- Management of project including procurement invoicing and chasing of debt.
What we need from you
- Full UK drivers’ licence.
- An understanding and appreciation of DNO and IDNO electrical networks.
- Operated in a commercial environment, with a track record of developing key customerrelationships.
- Good negotiation skills.
- A proven track record of delivering sales targets in a competitive environment.
- An understanding of the key issues & challenges relating to New Connections.
- Numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and information and produce itin a clear and logical format.
- In-depth financial and commercial awareness with the ability to communicate these to othersto ensure that commercial implications of actions are recognised and understood.
- The ability to make decisions and meet tight deadlines.
- The ability to self-motivate as an individual and at team level.
- A pro-active and creative approach to problem solving.
- Oral communication skills, interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to take aconfident and diplomatic approach with staff, colleagues and customers.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear concise reports, aworking knowledge of mainframe and PC based computer systems and the ability to adaptquickly to changes to those systems.
