Here's what you'll be doing

The Data & Infrastructure Architect, designs and manages end-to-end data architecture solutions for the Energy Infrastructure Services (EIS) Rome Data & Analytical Environment. The duties include determining strategic data requirements, creating high-level designs according to Rome Platform and ensuring that a company’s data architecture aligns with EIS business needs.

This is a key role in the development of data platforms for advanced analytics and data processing. Responsible for data and analytics architecture and tooling allow both the EIS business and the IT strategies to cohesively drive each other and ensures compliance between regional business strategies and other enterprise-wide initiatives and technology directions. This role will also including collaboration with the Head Office in Germany (Group).

This role will be a leadership role within a multi team DataOps environment owning the design and structure UK Solutions data and analytical environment.

  • Develop and maintain the data integration strategy for E.ON EIS, ensuring that it aligns with the wider E.ON strategies.
  • Take ownership for the development of a Cloud architecture and strategies that align with both local Data and Analytics priorities and group IT strategy and policies.
  • Collaborate with other architects and stakeholders to design, develop, and implement integration solutions using Microsoft Azure.
  • Establish and maintain best practices and standards for integration architecture and design.
  • Define and maintain a data integration roadmap and architecture principles that are aligned with industry best practices.
  • Ensure that the data integration solutions are scalable, reliable, and secure.
  • With a good working understanding of how to create and maintain data integrity and security at source and in transit, regulations and EON security policies and standards are designed and adhered to.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the data engineers in the team.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data integration issues, ensuring that they are resolved in a timely and effective manner.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in integration architecture and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide governance and oversight over the low-level implementation of projects (especially security and performance).
  • Manage and prioritise workload of the Infosys UKS Support Team.
  • Adhere to GDPR principles, meta data management and data quality management.

 

What we need from you

Essential

  • Proven expertise on Cloud, Data, and Hosting
  • Strong technical leadership and communication skills
  • Experience with Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure) and related tasks
  • At least 3 years advance knowledge in snowflake and Azure Data Integration, API driven design, DataOps and implementing data science capabilities. 
  • Have worked in a continuous deployment and Integration environment
  • Very good practical knowledge SQL, Python or data platform management. Have used ETL Software such as Matillion
  • Experience working within a multi partner / vendor environment including offshore teams
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and Data models
  • Experienced in extracting data from APIs 

Desirable

  • Experience with embedding Data Governance and Meta Data Management principles at its core.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of a wide range of IT systems and technologies with knowledge of the major technologies and applications used in Data and Analytics field.
  • Accreditation in agile and/or DevOps methodologies
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle and Agile methodologies
  • Experience communicating with and influencing senior stakeholder decisions
