Are you ready to step into a pivotal finance role where your insights drive operational success?
City Energy Solutions (CES) provides heat to end customers as well as energy systems for city quarters (power, heat, cooling).
You will be Business Partnering the Operational business. You will support the delivery of the MTP (Mid Term Plan), assist in planning and reporting across the business and provide comprehensive insights on monthly performance to business stakeholders. You will work in a team of business partners.
Main responsibilities of the role
- Support the month end process including managing and processing journals in SAP. Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations (on gross margin, opex and capex) and present results to finance and business stakeholders.
- Prepare financial forecasts supporting decision making with insight and analysis for gross margin, controllable costs, capital expenditure, FTE and operational metrics.
- Provide real-time support and analysis and support to the CES business, delivering insights that add value and inform decision-making.
- Supporting operational stakeholders manage their opex and capital budgets. Providing insightful reporting. Supporting business cases for capital projects.
- Month end close and planning activities for CES heat zones cost centres.
- Support the Annual Asset Impairment Paper and testing.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency and automation within reporting and planning processes. Partner with the business to enhance financial management reporting and champion continuous improvement initiatives.
What we need from you
- Proven experience as a Senior Finance Business Partner or similar role.
- Ability to gather, interpret and present complex financial data, working at pace and with accuracy.
- Strong relationship building and communication skills with the ability to influence and work effectively across external and internal stakeholders.
- Energy, drive, determination and enthusiasm and an ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to work flexibly within a team structure and support colleagues to ensure deadlines are met and to manage stakeholder’s expectations.
- Proficiency in financial management software and advanced MS Excel skills.
- A proactive and creative approach to problem solving, challenging established thinking.
- Membership of a professional accounting institute (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with PQE.
