We're looking for a Shift Team Member to join our operations team at Steven’s Croft Biomass Power Station, a 48MW facility located in Lockerbie, Scotland. This is an incredibly rare chance to join our high performing, safety-focused, performance-driven team. In this hands-on role, you’ll help keep our plant running safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards
Responsibilities include
- Ensuring that the plant is operated safely, professionally and effectively to deliver optimal performance.
- Developing a full understanding of the operational characteristics of the installed plant.
- Utilising skills and experience to minimise the effects of operational difficulties.
- Promoting trust and good working relationships within the immediate team, with other shift teams, site maintenance teams, off-site staff, contractors and site customers.
- Developing operational and task area procedures.
- Understanding the commercial aspects of plant operation and ensuring that all Supply Contract conditions are met.
- Identifying continuous improvement opportunities and assisting in their implementation.
- Ensuring that communication to third party suppliers is effective.
- Carrying out selected first-line maintenance activities.
- Performing key safety roles for the site including Nominated Supervisor, Competent Person and Selected Person.
What we need from you
- Substantial relevant experience gained within a similar role and industry.
- Experience in undertaking control room and site-wide operations.
- Experience of operating within safety, environmental and operational policies, frameworks and statutory legislation.
- Broad maintenance experience gained from a relevant discipline area (electrical, mechanical or C&I).
- Good understanding and awareness of environmental, commercial and legal issues and their impact on plant operating conditions.
- Competence in hazard identification and risk assessment and management of risks.
- Ability to perform the role of emergency and incident controller.
It would be great if you had
- ONC/NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification, in a related engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical or C&I).
- Relevant safety qualification – e.g. IOSH.
- An understanding of the plant’s processes and systems.
