We're looking for a O&M Fleet Engineer to join our team, this role is home based, involving UK wide travel with the role primarily being located in the home counties and surrounding areas.

Here's what you'll be doing

As an O&M Fleet Engineer, you’ll be the key point of contact for the operation and maintenance of E.ON UK’s B2B energy assets. You’ll take ownership of site performance, ensuring high levels of availability and reliability across your assigned portfolio. Bringing your technical expertise, you’ll provide proactive advice and support while upholding our high standards of safety, professionalism, and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Oversee and carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, overhauls, and minor installation works on plant and equipment, ensuring compliance with HSSE, EAMMR, and other relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and support the development of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules, responding to work orders as required.
  • Perform site-specific operational and maintenance duties in line with manufacturer specifications and contractual obligations.
  • Lead 1st and 2nd line fault response, including fault diagnosis, resolution, and root cause analysis.
  • Drive preventative actions and effective planning to ensure maximum plant availability and performance.
  • Provide technical advice and demonstrate autonomy in key operational decisions, clearly communicating business needs and justifications.
  • Act as a direct technical contact for global customers and partners to support technical queries and issues.
  • Work collaboratively with both specialist and general sub-contractors and service partners to deliver high-quality service.
  • Ensure safe systems of work are followed by all staff and contractors, complying with health, safety, legal, and company requirements.
  • Issue and control safety documentation, including Permits to Work, and support relevant company health and safety procedures.
  • Coordinate with E.ON’s Remote-Control Centre for site operations and support effective communication and response.
  • Take an active role in site emergency response procedures, including diagnostics and operational support.

What we need from you

  • A relevant qualification in an engineering discipline, ideally with an electrical, instrumentation, or electromechanical focus.
  • Experience working in a related field or industry, with a solid understanding of operational and maintenance practices.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with the ability to stay calm and effective in challenging situations.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach and a well-organised working style.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work constructively with customers, contractors, and colleagues.
  • A strong focus on safety, quality, and delivering excellent service to meet customer needs.

It would be great if you had

  • Knowledge of LV systems such as Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Solar PV installations.
  • Knowledge of boiler heating systems, including steam raising plant
  • Familiarity of gas turbines and reciprocating engines
  • Gas Safe Registration
  • Health & safety qualification such as IOSH / NEBOSH
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics
