Senior Finance Manager - City Energy Solutions - Heat Networks & Generation

Here's what you'll be doing

We are looking for a dynamic and highly experienced Senior Finance Manager to join our team, leading the financial operations for the City Energy Solutions Heat and Generation businesses across the UK. In this critical leadership role, you will be responsible for driving financial performance, offering strategic financial insights, and ensuring robust financial management to support the business units' growth and objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact within a fast-growing sector while shaping the financial future of innovative energy solutions.

Key Responsiblities

  • Lead and manage the finance team for the City Energy Solutions Heat and Generation businesses in the UK.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies, plans, and budgets to support the achievement of business objectives.
  • Provide financial analysis, insights, and recommendations to support decision-making and drive business performance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Oversee financial planning and forecasting processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cost optimization initiatives and identify opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Support development, review and challenge of business cases using capital appraisal and financial modelling capabilities
  • Monitor and manage financial risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, business partners, and external auditors.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of 7 finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Contribute to the success of the wider Commercial Services team 

What we need from you

  • Proven experience as a Senior Finance Manager or similar role

  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Proven ability to develop and appraise business cases that stand up to senior level scrutiny
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with the capability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  •  Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • An innovative approach, driving imaginative solutions to problems and capable of challenging conventional business thinking
  • Energy, drive, determination and enthusiasm and an ability to work to tight deadlines
