Join E.ON as a Paralegal in the Legal, Compliance and Data Protection Team to support legal, compliance, and regulatory activities for E.ON’s Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO) business, focusing on land rights transactions.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing land rights cases (easements, leases, transfers, licences) from start to finish, coordinating with internal teams, external legal counsel, and stakeholders.
- Drafting, reviewing, and preparing legal documents and conducting title reviews with HM Land Registry.
- Supporting regulatory submissions, audits, and governance processes through accurate record-keeping and reporting.
- Liaising with customers and legal representatives to ensure clear communication and timely progress.
- Providing legal and administrative support to the IDNO Compliance Officer and contributing to process improvements and team collaboration.
This role requires attention to detail, proactive case management, and effective stakeholder communication to drive successful delivery of land rights and legal activities.
What we need from you
Essential
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a legal assistant or paralegal role (in-house or private practice)
- Legal qualification, or working towards a relevant legal qualification, with practical experience in a legal assistant, paralegal or similar support role
- Ability to manage and prioritise a varied caseload, progress matters to deadlines and escalate issues appropriately
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear documentation and liaise professionally with internal and external stakeholders
- High level of attention to detail and analytical ability when reviewing documents, information and records
- Strong organisational skills and confidence using Microsoft Office and case management or tracking tools
Desirable
- Experience in land rights, commercial property, infrastructure, utilities or another regulated sector
- Familiarity with land law, property transactions, HM Land Registry processes or title document review
- Experience drafting, reviewing or amending standard form legal documentation, including easements, leases, licences or NDAs
- Experience liaising with and instructing external legal counsel and coordinating legal responses
- Experience working within a DNO, IDNO, ICP or UK energy sector environment
