E.ON UK Network Assets Limited is a new E.ON business that will operate as a licensed (IDNO) Independent Distribution Network Operator. The business will be regulated by OFGEM and other industry standards. The business has ambitions to secure a sizable market share and be a market leader in the competition in connections market space.
Here's what you will be doing
This is an exciting opportunity to join a brand new team and in this role you will play an integral part in the establishment and operation of the IDNO business.
You will join the project team tasked with developing the business and contribute to setting up the business and leading in its growth ambitions.
Main Responsibilities of the role
- Develop, implement and maintain technical processes and procedures relating to asset adoptions and network operations.
- Develop and implement class leading asset management and inspection operating procedures.
- As the IDNO technical authority you will ensure that the IDNO has a consistent, efficient and co-ordinated approach to design and construction standards. Standards that seek to mitigate risk and promote a technically compliant and efficient network.
- Develop and maintain the IDNO’s technical publications, such as G81 standards, EHV and 132kV technical specifications.
- Lead the design function, ensuring performance is in line with regulated guaranteed standards of performance.
- Manage and carry out technical audits on ICP’s.
- Engage with ICP’s to ensure full understanding of the IDNO’s technical standards.
- Work with the Senior Network Engineer to develop suitable network operating procedures.
- Support the ad hoc day to day business needs associated with safe, technically robust, regulatory, legislative and efficient operations.
- Conduct technical project risk reviews and manage actions arising to minimise company risk.
- Represent the business on relevant industry forums.
What we need from you
- Qualified Engineer with proven design experience on electricity distribution networks ranging from 11kV to 132kV.
- Electricity distribution experience in a technical and/or operational capacity.
- Knowledge and experience in developing electricity distribution technical standards (design, material, construction).
- Good understanding of regulatory standards applicable to the business and the processes required to be compliant with them.
- Good understanding H&S law and the responsibilities the IDNO business carries.
- Experienced in using AutoCAD software.
- Experienced in using electricity network modelling software.
- Possess excellent communication skills and be confident in a client facing role.
It would be great if you have
- Chartered Engineer status.
- Operational site experience / attendance.
