Now, we're looking for a Cities Commercial Manager to join the team in Nottingham help drive this ambition forward. This is a high-impact role within the New City Quarter Partnerships team, where you'll lead the commercial development of complex, long-term city partnerships that support net zero ambitions while delivering strong commercial outcomes for E.ON.

Here's what you'll be doing

You’ll work closely with colleagues across E.ON and with external partners to shape, develop and deliver winning commercial strategies for New City Quarter Partnership bids. This includes:

  • Leading the commercial development of New City Quarter Partnership opportunities, from early pre-bid discovery through to bid submission and successful delivery
  • Developing robust commercial business cases, models and propositions aligned to E.ON’s growth ambitions
  • Owning and delivering the commercial submissions for city partnership bids
  • Influencing product and proposition development across the wider E.ON business to ensure solutions meet city needs and decision-making criteria
  • Setting and steering commercial principles, risk management and financial returns for complex, cross-business projects
  • Leading senior stakeholder engagement and negotiation, both internally and externally
  • Driving continuous improvement, capturing learning from bids such as Coventry to strengthen future city strategies
  • Playing a key role in our ambition to secure one new city partnership in 2026 and one in 2027

What we need from you

You’ll bring strong commercial leadership, strategic thinking and a collaborative mindset, along with:

  • A high degree of commercial awareness, analytical capability and creative problem-solving
  • Strong understanding of business operations, financial modelling, sales and market dynamics
  • Proven experience in commercial decision-making, business case development and bid strategy
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to influence at senior levels
  • A proactive, “can-do” approach, focused on developing win-win partnerships
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills, including risk identification, mitigation and KPI development
  • The ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to support decision-making
  • Sound commercial and financial acumen
  • Experience in customer and partner negotiation and contract management
