As a Data Architect within the UK Digital Technology team, you will be responsible for owning and driving E.ON UKs Data and Analytics platform, roadmap, and strategy; ensuring it delivers against stakeholder requirements, and provides value and impact for the organization. You will use your passion and knowledge of modern technologies to keep our platform up to date. Your contributions will make a positive impact on our colleagues and customer's lives to help build a better energy future.
- Owning and driving E.ON UKs data and analytics platform, roadmap, and strategy; ensuring it delivers value for the organisation and enables data-driven decision making.
- Taking a hands-on approach to designing, creating, implementing, and delivering innovative data solutions, models, and pipelines for business stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain best practices and standards on data and platform architecture and data pipelines. Ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable, well-governed, secure, and compliant.
- Providing technical leadership on the latest data trends, tools, and capabilities.
- Representing the UK data team with E.ON's Digital Function and other regional units.
- Engaging with technology vendors & partners to explore joint ventures leveraging the latest technology.
- Working within a flat hierarchy, where your voice will always be heard.
- Creating a personal development plan including coaching, mentorship, training, and conferences supported by an excellent learning and development platform.
What we need from you
- Proven experience as a Data Architect or a similar role, with a strong focus on designing and implementing scalable, secure, and reliable data solutions preferably in an Azure (or AWS/ GCP) environment.
- Expertise in data modelling, data warehousing, data lakes and data lake houses.
- Knowledge and experience with data integration architectures and technologies including data mesh, API integration, Kafka and MuleSoft.
- Understanding data management and governance concepts such as data quality, metadata management, data lineage etc.
- Strong technology leadership experience with a keen interest in staying up to date with industry best practices and advancements in data, actively seeking out opportunities to learn and grow professionally.
- Experience working in DevOps environment, CI/CD pipelines and a product led approach to data would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex issues and solutions with senior leadership at all levels and diverse business stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders and vendors at all levels.
