Here's what you'll be doing
Join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of regulatory and policy developments in the energy retail market. Working within the Strategic Regulation and Policy Advocacy team, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to influence regulatory decisions and drive strategic initiatives. Your responsibilities will include researching, analysing, and disseminating regulatory and compliance developments, responding to consultations, developing forward-looking regulatory policies, and contributing to lobbying strategies to influence external stakeholders. Other responsibilities include -
- Research, analyse, and disseminate upcoming regulatory and compliance developments to inform policy positions.
- Respond to formal consultations on future regulatory developments.
- Develop forward-looking regulatory policies and strategies.
- Collaborate with the external affairs team to develop lobbying strategies for influencing external stakeholders.
- Facilitate and submit RFI responses, track submissions, and conduct data trend analysis.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to distil complex topics into key fundamentals.
- Strong stakeholder management skills to ensure key deliverables and timelines are met.
- Strong influencing, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to support the development of regulatory policy.
- Ability to handle large amounts of complex information to identify salient points quickly.
- Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Inquisitive nature with the ability to challenge conventional wisdom for innovative solutions.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
- Good understanding of economic, commercial, and market frameworks in the UK retail market.
- Understanding of relevant energy market regulations.
- Understanding of wholesale market regulation and compliance.
- Understanding of risk management and compliance.
