Street Lighting Operative Civils
Base location – Rochdale
Salary - £32,280 plus excellent employee benefits and career progression
We are looking for a Street Lighting Operative to join us on a permanent basis.
In this role you will safely carry out civils duties on our Oldham and Rochdale PFI Project, including all excavation works for column installation, removals, joint bays and track work inclusive reinstatement works.
Main Responsibilities of the role
- The installation of lighting assets as instructed.
- The removal or decommissioning of assets as instructed.
- Work in connection with the annual investment programme and change notice protocol.
- Work associated with Private Cable Networks.
- Work associated with DNO and iDNO connections.
- Hand digging for the installation of new and existing equipment.
- Reinstatements in line with HAUC regulations and Local Authority policies.
- Hot lay permanent reinstatements.
- Completing tasks associated with inventory recording and maintenance.
- The safe use and operation of tools, equipment and vehicles associated with the role.
- Providing support to skilled and specialist operatives.
- Working in a safe manner and in accordance with Company Health, Safety, Environment and Quality policies and procedures.
- Complying with operational working practices and associated risk assessments.
- Taking full ownership for personal Health & Safety responsibilities.
- Ensuring PPE is worn at all times.
What we need from you
- Flexible to work extra hours to meet deadlines and targets.
- A current UK driving licence.
- A high degree of manual dexterity.
- The ability to understand and carry out work instructions.
- The ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
- The ability to communicate with colleagues.
- The ability to interact with the public in a polite and courteous manner, while carrying out work.
It would be great if you have
- A current NRSWA qualification.
- An appropriate G39 qualification.
- Mini digger experience.
- Hot lay experience.
- CSCS accreditation via the Highway Electrical Registration Scheme (HERS).
- Abrasive wheels.
- Manual Handling.
- First aid at work.
