We are seeking an Industry Settlement Intern to join our Energy Markets team in Solihull, offering a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in regulatory credit collateral and industry modelling.

Industry Settlement Intern

Here's what you'll be doing

  • Develop a strong understanding of regulatory credit collateral obligations, learning how supplier licence conditions and industry codes determine credit cover calculations, including triggers for posting, increasing, or releasing credit cover.
  • Review and challenge existing credit cover models, ensuring they are robust, accurate, and aligned with code requirements. This includes assessing data quality, validating assumptions, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement enhancements or build new models to improve stability, efficiency, and risk management, ensuring all developments remain compliant with relevant code obligations.
  • Document model logic, assumptions, and updates in line with our model risk policy to ensure transparency, auditability, and consistency.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate interpretation and application of industry code requirements within modelling and analytical work.

What we need from you

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work through complex calculations or logic.
  • Ability to interpret detailed industry codes and regulatory material, translating them into practical modelling or analytical requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, contributing effectively within a team.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly when explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Available to attend an interview in April 2026, if shortlisted
  • Available to undertake the internship from June 2026 to October 2026
