The E.ON I&C Pillar combines the current nPower nBS & E.ON B2B businesses to create a new £5billion revenue business serving c20,000 customers and c200,000 meter points with a view to becoming the number one B2B energy supplier in the UK.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Solutions Architect to join our Digital Technology & Change team. For this role you will be accountable for maintaining the integrity of the I&C system landscape and ensuring it remains aligned to E.ON I&C business strategy, objectives & outcomes. This role is based in Solihull and offers hybrid working.
Key responsibilities
- Own IT solution design for the I&C business, driving the I&C IT application roadmap.
- Translate business requirements into IT system application or process designs, covering both functional and non-functional aspects.
- Collaborate with the I&C business teams and Change Management to ensure that the right IT solutions are designed and deployed.
- Provide architectural direction to implementation teams and third parties during solution design.
- Advise on regulatory and critical IT projects and programmes.
- Identifying continual service improvements to I&C IT architecture.
- Participate in architectural governance activities within I&C.
- Managing the risks associated with architectural decision making through appropriate risk management standards and policies.
- Work with the Digital Technology & Change Leadership team to deliver relative reduction in Total Cost of Ownership in I&C.
What we need from you
- Significant experience of working with and providing architectural governance to third party providers in a predominantly outsourced environment, including experience in assuring that provider proposals are fit for purpose.
- Strong track record of managing IT architecture activities operating in a complex multi-application/multi project IT landscape.
- Strong understanding and application of architectural modelling techniques.
- Ability to perform a critical role in the delivery and development of continuous improvements within IT architecture.
- Sound understanding of project lifecycles and phases.
- Ability to translate business requirements into IT solution options.
It would be great if you had
- Knowledge of the UK Energy Industry.
- Experience of formal Architecture Frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachmann, FEA or similar.
- Good knowledge and experience of ITIL / SIAM processes, application and architectural integration.
- Experience of using architecture tools such as LeanIX or similar Architecture related certification (TOGAF, CITA, Microsoft or similar).
