The E.ON I&C Pillar combines the current npower Business Solutions & E.ON B2B businesses to create a new business serving c60,000 customers and around 300,000 meter points with a view to becoming the number one B2B energy supplier in the UK.
The Digital Technology & Change organisation is being formed as part of this integration consisting of Change Management, Digital Data and Technology & Partner and Service Management functions to provide Change & IT services to the new E.ON Industrial & Commercial (I&C) business.
Right now, we’re looking for a .NET Developer to join our team based in Solihull. Here you will be responsible for building, optimising and supporting effective digital solutions, software and applications. You’ll be required to provide consultancy on the solution design, specification, development, build, functional & user testing, deployment, migration and warranty provision of I&C owned and managed digital solutions.
This role will entail working with a variety of different business owners to provide optimised solutions to meet business needs, balancing the requirements of the business against potential solution capability and optimised delivery models. We’re looking for someone with the expertise in all matters pertaining to the solution development and delivery part of a project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Participate in requirements analysis/assessments
- Collaborate with internal teams to produce solution designs based on agreed architecture
- Write clean, scalable code using .NET programming languages
- Test and deploy applications and systems
- Revise, update, refactor and debug code
- Improve and support existing software applications
- Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Serve as an expert on the solutions managed by the team and provide professional technical support
What we need from you
- Proven experience as a .NET Developer
- Experience with developing web applications and software within the Microsoft environment using ASP.NET MVC, C# and Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience and knowledge of JavaScript, JQuery, HTML, CSS and Bootstrap
- Familiarity with creating REST APIs
- Familiarity the Entity framework preferable
- Experience and good understanding of Development/project methodologies
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills under pressure
Knowledge of the below would be advantageous:
- Installing and configuring websites on IIS web server
- Knowledge/Experience of Azure Cloud Services
